For Your Money:
The “Discover Darnley’s” Gin Tour is a guide to the local area as much as it is to the gin it produces. You’ll learn about the history of Gin, take a tour of the still room to hear about the botanicals and processes and then taste your way through the gin range.
There’s a cafe and bottle shop at the end of the tour (and should you wish to buy a bottle, your tickets serves as a £2 voucher).
Children aged eight and older are allowed to accompany you on the tour.
A few thoughts from Gin Foundry:
Darnley’s moving up to the Kingsbarns distillery is a relatively recent thing for the team (only fully happening in the past two years) and so the distillery is much more geared to Whisky tourism. This, in our opinion is where it has a massive advantage – they are good at what they do and have had years to hone their craft. They have 3 types of Whisky distillery tours suitable for all levels of interest and so if you can’t decide or agree what you and your partner both want to do (as happens a lot during the Scotch trail) – this might be a good way to split the interest and each have the opportunity to discover the spirit of your preference. You can turn up anytime for the whisky, so time it on the gin tours and go from there…
