Junipalooza Melbourne
Unfortunately, due to Covid, the event has been cancelled.
What’s Junipalooza you ask? Let’s break it down:
Juni: An abbreviation of Gin’s signature botanical, juniper.
Palooza: A party, celebration or festival.
Junipalooza: Dozens and dozens of gin makers in one room, sharing their love for the spirit and serving up samples and stories for all to enjoy.
Junipalooza Melbourne is the hottest ticket on the Australian Gin scene, with dozens of distillers gathering under one roof to share their wares with hoards of thirsty fans. This year, we are taking over the Timber Yard for the weekend of 23rd, 24th & 25th October 2020, and extending the show to include Friday night.
We added an extra session on Friday night as we feel there are far too may gins to discover and far too many gin drinkers to fit in so little time. By adding a separate session we can accommodate more guests overall, while also providing the opportunity for those wanting to return more than once on the weekend to spread it out. Those who’ve been before can rest assured we’re keeping the old pallet stand aesthetic and meet the maker ethos. Those who haven’t been before… well, keep reading.
Junipalooza is a one of a kind show; not only are all of the makers behind each gin there to talk you through their products in person, every single gin on site is free for you to sample, and comes with the option to try both neat and with tonic.
Junipalooza Melbourne presents attendees with the unique opportunity to meet upwards of 50 distillers – to drill them on the madness behind their methods and to learn all about the botanicals and flavours at hand. These are people who’ve shaken off the shackles of corporate life to do their own thing; they’re inspiring, driven creators who are only too keen to share their adventures with you over an ice cold G&T.
As well as sipping your way through dozens of delicious spirits, you’ll be able to get hands on in the a couple experiential areas, too. Details for these are never revealed until close to the event, but in the past we’ve had live distillations and even tarot reading!
You’ll have the opportunity to buy all of the gins directly from the brands, so not only will you hear their stories, you’ll become a part of them, helping to drive them onwards to the next step in their journey. We’ll also be stocking all of the gins in our onsite shop, so if you don’t want to carry bottles around all day you can hand your tasting notes over to our helpers as the end of the session and pick up an armful.
Junipalooza is THE Melbourne event as far as Gin fans are concerned, offering obsessives the chance to try something entirely different and newbies the chance to fall in love with the most creative of spirits. It will sell out and it’ll sell out fast (Early Bird tickets lasted less than two weeks), so get your tickets as soon as they go on sale to avoid disappointment.
Tickets go on sale via Eventbrite and the full exhibitor line up will be revealed in August on the brand new website: www.junipalooza.com/melbourne

Come on in and Meet the Makers
Junipalooza opens its doors for the 1st session! Corks come out of bottles and glasses are at the ready. It’s time to meet the faces behind some incredible gins, learn more about (and sample!) how they make their tasty gins.
There is also a free water stand inside so you can pace yourself, as well as a opportunity to try entire ranges of mixers and soft drinks.
Please remember that stands will pour last serves 15 minutes before closing. This will allow for time to finish your drinks comfortably and purchase any bottles you may be after, before we have to close the doors.

And we're over for this session...
Junipalooza comes to an end. Time to leave and continue on celebrating all things gin in one of Melbourne’s amazing cocktail bars…
Please note that service stops 10 mins before the end of the session and that it will not be possible to take any cocktails out with, as you leave the venue.

Buying Gin & The Junipalooza Bottle Shop
Each maker has the opportunity to sell their gins should they want to, although not all will have card readers. We advise those who think they might be interested in buying a bottle or two at the show, to come equipped with cash.
That said, there will also be a gin shop, stocking all the gins at the show and which matches the bottle price of each stand. The aim of the shop is not to take away from the makers themselves, merely, to offer a convenient one stop location with a guaranteed card facility for anyone who wants to to get all their gin in one go.

Press Passes
There are a limited amount of press passes allocated for both days.
Please contact olivier@ginfoundry.com for further details on how to register for one.

Who is the Gin Queen?
Hosting Junipalooza involves a lot of work behind the scenes, preparing masterclasses, selecting gin makers and inviting them to take part while also acting as quality control... When the idea in to host Juniplaooza in Melbourne first emerged, we knew we would need a partner to ensure the show was delivered to the same uber geek calibre as in London. Someone capable of navigating the gin scene, with an insider track on the best and most exciting ginsmiths, an eye for authenticity and someone who shared our values of placing guests first.
Gin Queen founder and editor, Caroline Childerley has all of this and more. Her website has grown out of a love for the juniper juice and the desire to share the gin love with everyone. In the process, Caroline has become an expert in the category and in particular, a leading figure in the Australian Gin scene.
