UPSKILL IN LOCKDOWN: FREE BUSINESS SCHOOL LAUNCHES FOR BUDDING FEMALE ENTREPRENEURS
Feeling restless? BLOOM Gin and their Passion Projects may well be the answer for you. Passion Projects is a global platform designed to support individuals who want to take their creative side hustle to the next level. They are offering up a no-strings attached prize fund and valuable skills training to help you on your journey too, here’s why…
Research carried out by BLOOM Gin has found that 1 in 10 women have started a business or side hustle during the Covid-19 pandemic, an increase of fifty percent compared to before the pandemic began. Out of those surveyed, nearly half of the them (45%) stated that the pandemic has given them more time to focus on themselves and their future ambitions.
While the government has pledged to increase the number of female entrepreneurs in Britain by 50% by 2030, the research for BLOOM Gin indicates that there are still many barriers standing in women’s way. For example, 60% of respondents said they had considered starting their own business but had failed to do so due to being unable to unlock the necessary funding while 49% pointed towards the difficulties that needing to juggle existing work and children creates.
There’s not just a generation looking towards aspirational changes and following passion projects either. Many across the UK are currently facing job losses or reduced hours due to Covid, and now more than ever are looking to upskill and pivot their careers. In response to this, BLOOM Gin launched ‘BLOOM in Business’ – a free to access business skills workshop aimed at helping budding female entrepreneurs to hone their skills.
The initiative is being ran in partnership with Future Females, a global organisation with 50,000 members that exists to increase the number of female entrepreneurs across the world.
All workshops are completely free to attend and you can sign up for them now at www.bloomgin.com/bloom-in-business.
The free ‘BLOOM in Business’ workshops include:
Finding your purpose
Business planning and how to get started
Budgeting for your business
Maximising your productivity
How to grow your business on Instagram
Not just a workshop aimed at breaking down barriers to success – to help give budding female entrepreneurs the funding they need to kickstart their business, BLOOM Gin is also giving away £25,000 in cash funding.
With a grand prize of £20,000 up for grabs and £1,000 available for five runners up, the funding will help five women to make their business dreams a reality.
To be in with a chance of winning, entrants must visit www.bloomgin.com/passion-projects and submit their business proposal by midnight on 11th December 2020.
Good luck to all who enter. We are a team who followed their passion to create Gin Foundry, and we hope that following yours leads you to working in something you love too!
