Merchant's Heart tonic review

Written by Gin Foundry

We’re pleased to announce that in addition to the experiential rooms, Junipalooza will also see a series of free masterclasses hosted by the team at Merchant’s Heart.

Fun, fast paced and informative the themes will feature:

THE SCIENCE OF FLAVOUR.

Ebullience, volatility and hollow middles might sound the stuff of madness but it’s the science that goes into delivering the flavour in your glass. When it comes to tonic water, there’s a lot of thought that goes into the right carbonation, which aromas rise up and which flavours play a supportive role – let alone how best to augment the gin you are putting into the equation. Expect geekery, tastings and enough facts to be fizzing over with info about your favour mixer…

CLASSIC VS ENHANCED?

Ever wondered just what to do with flavoured tonics? Is a gin better with classic tonic water or with a flavoured variant and if so, what does it bring to the drink and what should you look for to find the perfect pairing? Merchant’s Heart will host two distillers in this panel come tutored tasting and discuss all things G&T. They’ll cover how to accentuate the inherent flavours of both the gin and the tonic, and in doing so maximising both the distiller’s intentions as well as the drinker’s experience!

SOME TIMINGS TO PLAN AHEAD…
