a little book on… gins, tonics & garnishes V2
We’ve just released the second edition of the little book on G&Ts, crammed with even more gins, more illustrations and more guidance than the first edition.
The feedback from the first book was truly astounding; so many people – distillers and drinkers alike – have stopped by to tell us how helpful they find it, clutching their dog-eared editions with a faint air of obsession.
Passport sized and just 128 pages long, the beauty of the little book lies in its simplicity – it’s a small but ultimately exhaustive guide to the humble G&T, packed to the brim with information on 47 gins from around the world, alongside garnish suggestions tailored to suit their flavour profiles.
The little book is dripping with detail too; each of the gins and recommended serves featured in the book have been hand drawn, while the tasting wheel printed within is one of the most comprehensive guides to drinking gin you’re likely to encounter. The Gin Foundry Tasting Wheel was designed to help gin drinkers give voice to their tasting experiences. With this tool, you’ll have a greater understanding of and a greater ability to articulate the flavours you’re experiencing.
The book also tackles the history of tonic, from the use of bark from the Quinquina tree to tackle Malaria in the 17th Century, to British officers mixing gin rations with their daily dose of quinine in the 19th Century, to artificial flavours becoming all the rage in the 20th Century and finally, to Fever-Tree restoring tonic back to its all-natural territory in the 21st Century.
The little book is the ultimate tool for all Gin geeks and is, if we do say so ourselves, one of the best stocking fillers going for those interested in the spirit. We’re very proud of it and we just know that you’re going to love it.
